Apple Ads After Steve Jobs

Apple ad campaigns, from "1984" to the most recent (yes, even the Siri ads), have been consistently effortless. Some were better than others, but they were all effortless. They said just enough to convey the benefits of the products and never took their audience for bumbling fools. Yet, these new ads do just that. You'd think from watching this that either people who buy Apple products are idiots or that Apple products are so hard to use that you'd need to wake a "genius" in the wee hours to guide you. Strategically, we could see how these ads got through. All the tech-savvy hipsters who could buy a Mac have already purchased two. It's time they reach the middle agers who missed the digital boat. Sure, but did they have to try so hard? Did they have to take a page out of the Windows ad book? Oh how the apple has fallen far from the tree.
